Enterprise Esri ArcGIS Platform on AWS 1 Highly available Esri ArcGIS deployment on AWS

Project Overview

Project Detail

GIS users connect to the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise platform via Amazon Route 53, which offers a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) web service. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 User traffic is then fronted by Amazon CloudFront to securely deliver static and dynamic web content with low latency and high transfer speeds. Application Load Balancer, located in the public subnet, channels user requests to either portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Server, based on the request type. Highly-available portal for ArcGIS, running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances, is hosted in two availability zones. It helps control access to ArcGIS Server services though portal groups. Portal for ArcGIS allows users to publish data and maps to a wider audience as web services. As a portal administrator, you can allow this by assigning a GIS server site to act as a hosting server. Highly available ArcGIS Server, running on Amazon EC2 instances, is hosted in two availability zones within an AWS Auto Scaling group. ArcGIS servers serve as a central component of ArcGIS Enterprise. ArcGIS servers are federated with an ArcGIS Enterprise portal, where your geographic data is made available through layers and web maps in the portal. ArcGIS database, running on Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) and hosted in two availability zones, provides a highly-available relational geo datastore to store your organization's hosted feature layer data, including hosted feature layers created as output from standard feature analysis tools run in the ArcGIS Enterprise Map Viewer Classic or ArcGIS Pro. Highly available ArcGIS datastore is running on Amazon EC2 instance and is hosted in two Availability Zones. ArcGIS Data Store is an application that allows you to configure data storage for the hosting server, used with ArcGIS Enterprise. ArcGIS Data Store provides a convenient setup and configuration experience that creates relational data store, tile cache data store, spatial temporal big data store, and graph store. Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) provides directory and config stores that can be shared by both ArcGIS server and Enterprise Portal for ArcGIS. Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) serves as the portal content store, which contains portal items, caching, and ArcGIS spatial temporal datastore backup. Amazon DynamoDB tables are used to store configuration and directories of the highly-available ArcGIS Server sites. The VPC endpoint enables secure connections between the Enterprise ArcGIS platform, Amazon S3, and Amazon Dynamo
