This paper outlines a strategy for migrating Linux-based applications that require Network File System (NFS) storage to Amazon Web Services (AWS). It describes how to deploy AWS DataSync to transfer files quickly and effectively from an on-premises file system to Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS). This paper also explains how to use the Amazon Elastic File System Infrequent Access storage classes and file lifecycle management to reduce storage costs by up to 92%, and how to use AWS Backup for automated, centrally managed data protection and recovery.
